LOCAL BRAND MANX PETROLEUM TAKE OVER FROM GLOBAL GIANT

Local company Manx Petroleum is proud to announce that it will independently provide new contracts for the supply of petrol and diesel for many of the owners of the retail service stations on the Isle of Man following the decision by Shell to restructure in this market place.

After careful negotiations with Shell, it has been agreed that Manx Petroleum are best placed to take over the retail network from Shell to the retailers to provide a more localised service whilst continuing to supply Shell's quality petrol and diesel.

The impact will be positive news for the Isle of Man consumers as Manx Petroleum takes the opportunity to reinvigorate the forecourt image and provide an improved service and a Manx brand, an independent brand that the people of the Island can identify with.

During the course of 2010 a number of filling stations situated across the Isle of Man will be redesigned with a new fresh and vibrant look.

Manx Petroleum is a private family owned business and an expert in buying and selling oil. Back in 1954, the company was appointed sole distributor for all Shell products. Now as Manx Petroleum take over the retail of fuel from Shell, the company will raise its status as one of the Islands most successful and secure employers with over 55 staff serving the community.

The timing of this exciting change is expected to take up to 12 months to complete, during which time Shell and Manx Petroleum will work together to ensure a smooth transition for all retail customers.

Manx Petroleum will remain as Shell's branded island distributor and will continue to sell Shell's excellent range of fuels in the retail, domestic and commercial markets under a long term supply agreement.
