Manx Petroleum in conjunction with Blue Fin have cut through the complications of differing levels of cover and conditions to produce a single, comprehensive policy. This plan offers improved cover by including more boiler parts than ever before, by removing any upper claim limit to the cost of replaced parts and by reducing the number of restrictions applied to the policy.
At the same time, making a claim is easy and convenient. Premium costs are also simplified and are based soley on the age of your boiler, which must be under 26 years on entry to the scheme.

You expect your oil-fired boiler to work efficiently and reliably for you every day of the year. But whether your boiler is one of the newest, most sophisticated models or is perhaps over 10 years old and still giving faithful service, the unexpected can sometimes happen. With the 5 Star Insurance Plan, you will have the security of knowing that any problem will be dealt with quickly and with minimum inconvenience to you.
The 5 Star Insurance Plan covers the cost of repair or replacement of every component within the casing of your boiler, with one exception: the water jacket on boilers which are 21 years old and over:
The policy also covers the following associated components:
- Water circulating pump
- Warm air circulating fan
- Time clock and programmer
- Motorised valve
- Fire safety valve
- Frost stats
All insured components must be easily accessible.
The policy covers both parts and associated labour costs and includes the cost of draining down, refilling and venting the boiler system. There is no upper claim limit on any part (except for obsolete water jackets). Decorative parts, trims and the boiler casing itself are not covered.
Combination and condensing boilers are included in the scheme.
For an additional premium you can also insure a number of parts relating to systems under 21 years old. These are radiators (and their valves), thermostats, expansion tanks and plastic oil tanks (not contents), but excluding pipework and metal oil tanks.
In the event of a claim being made, the estimated cost of repair can, as an alternative, be put towards the cost of a new boiler.
